Leslie’s over thirty years of experience provide a broad background in perioperative and procedural services, advancing from staff RN to Director of Surgical Services, with many years of work in Level I trauma hospitals. She also has experience as a certified Surgical Clinical Reviewer for Memorial Hermann Hospital, documenting surgical outcomes for the American College of Surgeons. Her leadership and clinical expertise cover Operating Room (OR), PACU, Pre-Op, Pre-Admission Testing (PAT), Sterile Processing, Endoscopy, Pain Management, and Infusion Therapy. She has extensive hands-on experience across various surgical specialties, including General Surgery, Bariatrics, Gynecology, Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Urology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Burns, Pediatrics, Cardiac, Cardiothoracic, Total Joint, Spine, Transplants, Pain Management, and DaVinci Robotics. This level of knowledge enables her to review operative and perioperative records with high accuracy and insight, especially regarding perioperative nursing standards of care, hospital policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements. Sheryl Whitman, RN, BSN
Sheryl brings more than thirty years of comprehensive clinical nursing experience spanning a broad range of specialties, including Medical-Surgical, End-Stage Cardiac Care, Neurology, Oncology, Pediatrics, VIP patient services, and Home Health. She has extensive critical care expertise with a strong foundation in ICU practice, including hands-on management of high-acuity patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as experience in ICU Case Management.
Her career reflects a well-rounded background across inpatient, outpatient, and home-based care environments, providing her with a deep understanding of the full continuum of patient care. Sheryl demonstrates advanced insight into patient progression, interdisciplinary collaboration, and complex care coordination. She is highly skilled in analyzing clinical documentation, identifying patterns in treatment and outcomes, and ensuring compliance with established nursing standards of practice, hospital policies, and applicable state and federal regulations.
